Indio, CA—The Medal Play Golf Tour visited Terra Lago in Indio Sunday playing the North course. “This is the 3rd straight year we have played the North course in January” commented tour director Blane Freytag. “The North course is very challenging and a good early season test. We will be back to Terra Lago in March to play the South course”.

The Championship Division saw tour rookie Wally Gonzales from San Diego shoot an amazing 71 for a net 67 and his first victory on tour. Billy Hargus was runner up with a fine net 73 while Fred Miller was 3rd with a net 74.

The Gold Division was very competitive with the top 7 players within 3 shots of each other. Tour veteran Mark Kammerlohr broke thru for his first victory since Industry Hills last season with a wonderful net 71. Jim Munyon was a shot back at net 72 while David Onken won a 3 player card playoff for 3rd with a net 73. Two more players were a shot back at net 74.

The Silver Division was a tale of two tales. Stan Tankersley was in a zone and easily lapped the field with a net 64. Runner up Steve Challenger was in a log jam with 2 other players at net 78. Challenger won the scorecard playoff while Robert Soto, winner at Desert Dunes won the other scorecard playoff for 3rd.

The tour returns to action at Indian Canyons (North) in Palm Springs on Sunday February 12th.
