Leslie Iversen has recently joined Floyd Bloom and Paul Insel as a Head of Faculty for Pharmacology & Drug Discovery within F1000.

October 12, 2010 - Les Iversen is currently a Professor of Pharmacology at University of Oxford, England, and previously served as Director of the Neuroscience Research Center of Merck Research Laboratories in the UK. The recipient of numerous awards, including being made a Fellow of the Royal Society of London and Foreign Associate Member of the National Academy of Sciences in the United States, Professor Iversen is also the new interim chairman of the UK government's Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs.

Commenting on the appointment of the new Head of Faculty Paul Insel said: "We are thrilled that Les Iversen will be joining us in helping to continue the success of F1000 Pharmacology & Drug Discovery. He is internationally recognized for his fundamental contributions to the understanding of neurotransmission.”

The F1000 Faculty consists of international experts who are highly respected in their chosen fields. Leading scientists and clinicians are invited to become Heads of Faculty based on the recommendation of large numbers of their peers.
